We use a unique Vitamin C that is shown to be the most stable, gentle, and bioavailable form and does not take away from or react poorly with other ingredients, as do commonly used forms of ascorbic acid. This serum does many jobs, including boosting natural collagen production, detoxifying and protecting skin from UV rays and pollution, brightening, and hydrating.

While it may seem appealing to have highly concentrated products, formulas with more than 20% L-ascorbic acid can irritate the skin and are not more beneficial. Most dermatological studies have found that a range between 8-20% produces the best results with limited irritation. A study conducted by Duke University Medical Center found that the concentrations of L-ascorbic acid above 20% do not have increased skin benefits. The study determined that, conversely, higher levels can negatively impact the skin’s condition.

We use a base of only organic palm-free glycerin and purified water. Vegetable glycerin absorbs at the skin’s surface and boosts your skin’s hydration. Glycerin easily penetrates and gets absorbed into the skin without clogging pores while also making it easier for the skin to absorb other active, skin health-enhancing ingredients. By filling fine lines and miniscule cracks on the skin and by facilitating the regeneration of new skin, glycerin smooths out the complexion for a rejuvenated appearance. Furthermore, it evens out the skin tone to lighten darker areas, thereby diminishing the appearance of unwanted spots and marks. A perfect companion to a Vitamin C serum.
